Lady Be

Letizia Lanzarotti, in arte Lady Be, artista visuale italiana, è nata nel nord Italia e ha vissuto per diversi anni a Roma. Dal 2009 crea opere d’arte realizzate con oggetti di plastica di recupero che, sminuzzati oppure interi, diventano tasselli per comporre i suoi mosaici sostenibili.

Per realizzare le sue opere utilizza materiali poveri: penne, bottoni, tappi, involucri, bottiglie, giocattoli rotti, bambole, sorpresine, bigiotteria, cancelleria e molto altro materiale, raccolto dalle spiagge, dalle scuole e nei mercatini.

Le opere di Lady Be hanno lo scopo di far riflettere le persone sul riciclo degli oggetti utilizzati quotidianamente, che se non vengono smaltiti correttamente possono andare a inquinare con enormi conseguenze a catena sull’ambiente in particolare per le generazioni future. Lady Be è molto attenta in particolare a diffondere il suo messaggio in particolare tra i più giovani.

Tutti i materiali utilizzati sull’opera sono inalterati, ovvero utilizzati nel loro colore originale e mantenendo il più intatta possibile anche la loro forma, per poter essere riconoscibili nell’opera finale, essendo coerenti con il soggetto rappresentato.

Lady Be espone le sue opere in diverse città italiane ed estere, in Musei, Palazzi, Monumenti, Fondazioni, Gallerie: Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Parigi (sulla Torre Eiffel), Amsterdam, Budapest, Bruges, Lubiana, Edimburgo, Londra, Barcellona, Berlino, La Valletta, Düsseldorf, Bruxelles e molte altre.

Durante gli anni della sua attività, Lady Be ha realizzato omaggi a icone storiche e del mondo della musica e del cinema, ma anche ritratti personali, speciali soggetti per cause benefiche e sociali e anche particolari opere in collaborazione con aziende del mondo della moda come Bottega Veneta, Fiorucci e ha realizzato un ritratto per Miuccia Prada.

Ha collaborato con Disney, Pixar, Glo, P&G, Ibm e molte aziende attente al tema della sostenibilità ambientale.

Il pubblico di grandi e piccoli da sempre apprezza molto le opere di Lady Be. L’artista porta avanti questa attività da più di 10 anni e lo fa per sostenere il suo importante messaggio per l’ambiente, non sprecare ma trovare risorse e alternative per utilizzare e smaltire correttamente tutti i materiali, in particolare la plastica che è ciò che attualmente provoca più problemi di inquinamento soprattutto di mari e oceani, andando a stravolgere l’intero eco-sistema.

Gran parte del materiale che utilizza Lady Be nelle opere proviene infatti dalla raccolta sulle spiagge, altro deriva dalle scuole e da mercatini dell’usato. Gli oggetti vengono consegnati inconsapevolmente dal popolo, e consegnati nelle mani dell’artista per trasformarsi da rifiuto in opera d’arte.

Tra i suoi eventi più recenti, ha partecipato nel 2022 a una mostra a Londra, alla Biennale di Barcellona e nello stesso anno ha realizzato una performance creando un’opera live in co-creation con gli spettatori alla GNAM, Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna di Roma, mentre nel 2023 ha esposto al MANN, Museo Archeologico di Napoli e a Casa Sanremo, per una diretta nell’ambito del Festival di Sanremo, la più importante kermesse musicale italiana. Lady Be esporrà le sue opere a Vienna nel mese di aprile, all’interno del Westfield Donau Center, tornerà inoltre con una esposizione a Malta nel mese di ottobre 2023.

Dal 2019 Lady Be ha cominciato a portare la sua arte in luoghi non espressamente nati per l’arte (ma fruibili liberamente dal pubblico) realizzando maestose esposizioni; dalla sua personale allestita all’Aeroporto di Milano Malpensa (mostra attualmente visitabile), alla performance live a Düsseldorf, dove ha realizzato un’opera live all’interno del K, la più importante fiera delle materie plastiche al mondo, all’esposizione nell’Università di Pavia, alla presenza delle sue opere sostenibili a Fiumicino nell’ambito di un evento organizzato da Disney e Legambiente e nel backstage del Concertone del 1 Maggio a Roma.

L’idea è che l’arte vada verso lo spettatore, abbandonando così gli asettici musei e altre realtà come gallerie d’arte e altri luoghi frequentati soltanto da appassionati d’arte.

Lady Be nel 2024 ha aperto le porte del suo atelier per le visite guidate del FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, in occasione delle Giornate Fai di Primavera. Il suo atelier in Provincia di Pavia diviene quindi un museo accessibile e visitabile da chiunque ne faccia richiesta attraverso il sito della prestigiosa Fondazione.

Nel 2025 ha esposto a New York, Dubai e Pechino e realizzato una performance live ed esposizione alla GNAMc di Roma, realizzando il ritratto del Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella, che verrà donato al Campidoglio il 7 ottobre 2025.

Letizia Lanzarotti, aka Lady Be, an Italian visual artist, was born in northern Italy and lived in Rome for several years. Since 2009 she has been creating works of art made from recycled plastic objects that, chopped up or whole, become pieces to compose her sustainable mosaics.
To create her works she uses poor materials: pens, buttons, caps, wrappers, bottles, broken toys, dolls, surprises, costume jewelry, stationery and much more material, collected from beaches, schools and markets.
Lady Be’s works aim to make people reflect on the recycling of objects used daily, which if not disposed of correctly can pollute with enormous knock-on consequences on the environment, especially for future generations. Lady Be is very careful in particular to spread her message especially among the youngest.
All the materials used on the work are unaltered, that is, used in their original color and keeping their shape as intact as possible, in order to be recognizable in the final work, being consistent with the subject represented.
Lady Be exhibits her works in various Italian and foreign cities, in Museums, Palaces, Monuments, Foundations, Galleries: Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Paris (on the Eiffel Tower), Amsterdam, Budapest, Bruges, Ljubljana, Edinburgh, London, Barcelona, ​​Berlin, Valletta, Düsseldorf, Brussels and many others.
During the years of her activity, Lady Be has created tributes to historical icons and from the world of music and cinema, but also personal portraits, special subjects for charitable and social causes and also particular works in collaboration with companies in the fashion world such as Bottega Veneta, Fiorucci and she also created a portrait for Miuccia Prada.
She has collaborated with Disney, Pixar, Glo, P&G, IBM and many companies attentive to the theme of environmental sustainability.
The public, young and old, has always greatly appreciated Lady Be’s works. The artist has been carrying out this activity for more than 10 years and does so to support her important message for the environment, not to waste but to find resources and alternatives to use and dispose of all materials correctly, especially plastic which is what currently causes the most pollution problems especially in seas and oceans, upsetting the entire eco-system.
Much of the material that Lady Be uses in her works comes from collection on the beaches, others come from schools and flea markets. The objects are unknowingly delivered by the people, and delivered into the hands of the artist to transform from waste into a work of art.
Among her most recent events, in 2022 she participated in an exhibition in London, at the Barcelona Biennial and in the same year she created a performance creating a live work in co-creation with the spectators at the GNAM, Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna in Rome, while in 2023 she exhibited at the MANN, Museo Archeologico di Napoli and at Casa Sanremo, for a live broadcast as part of the Sanremo Festival, the most important Italian music festival. Lady Be has exhibited her works in Vienna, inside the Westfield Donau Center, and in Malta.
Since 2019, Lady Be has begun to bring her art to places not expressly created for art (but freely accessible to the public), creating majestic exhibitions; from her personal exhibition set up at Milan Malpensa Airport (exhibition currently open to visitors), to the live performance in Düsseldorf, where she created a live work inside the K, the most important plastics fair in the world, to the exhibition at the University of Pavia, to the presence of her sustainable works in Fiumicino as part of an event organized by Disney and Legambiente and backstage at the 1 May Concertone in Rome.
The idea is that art goes towards the spectator, thus abandoning the aseptic museums and other realities such as art galleries and other places frequented only by art lovers.
In 2024, Lady Be opened the doors of her atelier for guided tours of the FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, on the occasion of the Fai Spring Days. Her atelier in the Province of Pavia thus becomes an accessible museum that can be visited by anyone who requests it through the website of the prestigious Foundation.
In 2025 she exhibited in New York, Dubai and Beijing and created a live performance and exhibition at the GNAMc in Rome, creating the portrait of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, which will be donated to the Campidoglio on 7 October 2025.
